Worldwide Photo Walk in Honolulu
Scott Kelby, editor and publisher of Photoshop User Magazine and president of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals, is organizing a “Worldwide Photo Walk” this Saturday covering over 100 cities around the globe. Thanks to local organizer Hub Grosswendt, the Honolulu photo walk will come together at Ala Moana Beach Park at 9 a.m., making its way through the 28th Annual Greek Festival, the 2008 Dragon Boat Festival, and other sights and sounds along the Kakaako shore, concluding at Big City Diner at Ward.
There are also groups organizing in Hilo on the Big Island and in Hana on Maui.
The global photo walk is being organized to celebrate the release of an updated version of Kelby’s bestselling book, “The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 Book for Digital Photographers.” Participation is free, but limited to 50 people (and 25 people have already signed up!). Photos taken during the photo walk can be posted to the Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk Honolulu group on Flickr, and whomever’s photo is judged to be the best of the day will win a free copy of Kelby’s book. There’s also a grand prize for “the single best overall photo taken that day, from all the Photo Walk locations around the world.”
I am heading out Saturday for his first one in this series here in Baltimore.
Good luck!
